Configure Parani SD1000 Wireless RS232 Serial Adapters for NMEA GPS Collection

The Parani SD1000 Bluetooth serial adapter may be used to wirelessly extend a computers serial port

allowing for GPS data collection from a remote receiver. Once configured and paired these devices will automatically connect to one another providing a stable serial connection to 800 feet or more.
In order to use the SD1000 as a NMEA GPS link it must be configured for 4800 baud and then paired. With the adapter off move the 2nd dip switch to the ON position. This will place the device into 4800
baud mode. The dip switches should be as follows
1. Off
2. On
3. Off
4. Off
Reset both adapters to factory defaults by turning on the device and pressing the Reset button on the upper left hand side of the device for a few seconds. A paper clip works well for pressing the reset button.
To pair both adapters perform the following instructions:
1. Press the Pairing Button on the 1st device for 2 seconds. The mode light will now blink 3 times every three seconds.
2. Press the pairing button on the 2nd device for 2 seconds. The mode light will now blink 3 times
every three seconds.
3. Press the pairing button on the 2nd device again for 2 seconds until the Mode light blinks every second.
4. Wait for both devices to connect to one another. Once connected the Connect lights will blink on each device every second.
5. The devices will now link every time they are powered on.
